What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a natural occurring state of being relaxed and focused with a heightened sense of awareness.  We have all experienced hypnotic states; when we daydream, watching a movie or reading a good book.  Have you ever been driving and then realize you are totally unaware of your surroundings, then wonder how you got there?

What is a Hypnotherapist?

A Certified Hypnotherapist, CHt. is a certified and trained professional who helps people use their subconscious mind to change unproductive behaviors, release negative thoughts and unwanted feelings.

What does it feel like to be Hypnotized?

Some clients feel deeply relaxed and experience a sense of inner calm.  While others may feel like they are floating or drifting on a cloud.  Some people may feel as if nothing has happened in the session while others notice sensations in their body. Your breathing will get deeper and you may even have an overall feeling of well being. Your experience will be unique to you.

Will I be under the control of the hypnotherapist?

During a Hypnotherapy session, you are fully in control and aware of what is happening. You will not cluck like a chicken, bark like a dog, or get stuck in a trance.  You can come in and out of the hypnotic state as you wish.  You are in total control of the session, your Hypnotherapist is just a guide.

What if I can’t be hypnotized?

Anybody can be hypnotized.  Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state that everybody passes through before going to sleep. We all go in and out of trance states throughout the day.  Your hypnotherapist will help facilitate you through this state to get the results you want.

What happens during a hypnotherapy session?

The session starts by gathering information about you and your presenting issue.  Then we will establish the changes you want and discuss a plan of action.  Your Hypnotherapist will then guide you to enter a focused state of relaxation.  Once you are relaxed and in state, suggestions will be offered based on your desired results.  This process will start initiating the changes you want. A Post-hypnotic suggestion may also be given, these are powerful reinforcements prior to awakening.

How many sessions will I need?

People generally experience positive changes within the first few sessions.  Some issues may be resolved in just one session, but most find their best results with 3 to 6 sessions.  Some even choose to continue with further sessions, dealing with more in-depth issues to continue the healing process. The choice is up to you.

What are the benefits of hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a safe and effective way to release many of the roadblocks that keep us from experiencing our best life.  Changes can happen quickly resulting in a positive experience for each client.  Many will not even realize that these changes are taking place subconsciously through the suggestions and imagery in each session.  Just imagine feeling relaxed, less stressed and confident, right from the comfort of your own home.
